Community Yard Sale – Sat., April 26th

Unknown-3South Four Corners will be hosting it’s annual community yard sale on Sat., April 26 from 8-11a.m. and we’re making it really easy for you. We ask that each neighbor set up in their own yard or coordinate with your neighbor and host in their yard. The association will advertise online and in local newspapers and will post signs at all entrances to the community. We encourage each street to make sure there is a sign at the end of their block directing traffic to their sale.

We have scheduled A Wider Circle to pick up that day as well between 1-5pm. They will pick up in one neighbor’s driveway so you will need to bring your donations to that spot by 1pm.  Location will be posted on listserv prior to the yard sale.

Important: Gardens have requested we postpone this weekends Garden Classroom

From Jeanne Berman
Friends, neighbors and fellow gardeners….Though the weather is forcast looks spectacular for Saturday morning, March 22 during our Garden Classroom , I was to show you how to divide perennials (and I wanted to show you  the many kinds of perennials) …. Mother Nature has kept them sleeping a little longer than usual and the ground is very wet. (AND I do not want to disturb the garden we were going to be working in while itis this wet.)  I hope to re-schedule this activity if I can as soon as I see a few more plants “pop” out to say hello. Have a great Saturday and Enjoy the weather.

Cast your SFCCA Snowman of the year vote!

This year we’ve gotten a lot of snow and therefore gained a bunch of new temporary residents…snowmen that is!

Don’t forget to cast your vote for this winter’s favorite snowman.  Photos of the 15 snowmen in contention were featured on page 11 of most recent, SFCCA March-April 2014 newsletter (a copy can be found on this website under newsletters).  The 16th and 17th entries didn’t make it into the newsletters but are included in this post.

Cast your vote by emailing the photo number of your selection to SFCCAEditor@gmail.com.  The winner will be announced at the May 12th SFCCA meeting.

Gas Main Replacement Starts Soon in South Four Corners

Washington Gas was kind enough to present at the citizens association meeting on Monday, March 10. We learned a lot about the project, the timeframe and what it means for each of us. The Washington Gas staff that attended answered a number of questions and assured us they would communicate with us throughout the project and that they would be available for the residents of our community. Click “Washington Gas Main Replacement Presentation” to view the powerpoint presentation and learn more about the project.
